X-Con Spyware Destroyer was created April 3, 2006. Its creator was Todd Dube who, for years, worked at cleaning other people's infected machines. Todd saw the amount of malware that tormented so many people and decided to do something about it. Hence, the creation of X-Con. The first X-Con took hours and hours to scan. It would load a malware definition, perform a scan, close that definition and load another and so on until the scan was finish. It was a grueling and tedious process. In the following months Todd made quite a few changes to increase performance. However, the program's future was embedded in stone in July of 2006 when Todd asked his friend Mike, who had been Todd's friend for years and had worked on other computer ventures with Todd, to join together. Subsequently, the X-Con Team was born. Since that time X-Con has undergone several changes in leaps and bounds, and continues to change to perform up to its users expectations.
